Locke will soon be appointing 3 new adjunct admins (with my approval).
These admins will represent relatively diverse points of view within the FFO community.
They will not have any GM abilities and will lack some of the regular admin abilities.
They will be, however, be able to ban/mute and discuss pending moderation.
All bans will be posted on the forums and discussed by the admins before final judgments are made.
More details will be posted later by Locke, who will still be in charge of administration.

With admins all serving the same purposes, upholding rules, setting a good example for the rest of the community and such, what of the admin/gm powers?

The past four or so admin/gm appointed players we've had have all consecutively shown that they can't be trusted to handle gm conceal, as it is now, responsibly.

I think the conceal ability should have the ability to walk over dense tiles removed.

Even better, since it seems that a lot of things are being logged now, whenever conceal, warp-to or summon are used, an explanation of what said ability was used for is notated and logged with appropriate time-stamps.

This is the protect the players as well as the admins.
This provides supportive evidence when a player accuses an admin of misuse of their abilities.

Anyone agreeing with me here?

The problem isn't the abilities, it's the people being chosen. If you have an admin abusing abilities, the solution isn't to remove the abilities... I can tell you that much.

The problem isn't the abilities, it's the people being chosen. If you have an admin abusing abilities, the solution isn't to remove the abilities... I can tell you that much.

You make it sound as though some humans are perfect, and some are not. Temptation always exist so yea, removing the abilities might be a starting point to fixing abuse issues.

Letting potential abuse exist doesent fix the problem.

It realy does annoy me when a ton of people read a topic and never post in it. To all the people looking im pretty sure you have something to say so say it. Also why dont some of you nominate your selves or someone else thats not the obvious bunch instead of riding their wazoo?

I've had these abilities almost since I first became an admin, and I've only noclipped to dodge pvp once, and that was a mistake. I've never used the abilities for anything remotely abusive aside from that. They are, however, very useful for their intended purpose.

That's all I'm going to say on that. This topic is to announce our decision and discuss possible new admins. Make a new one if you want to debate whether I handle my abilities properly and whether GM should stay or not.
