I think there's a huge problem with Ninja speed right now. A while back Gaku mentioned that Ninja (and Master) speed capped in shoe's "of speed". This was mentioned because someone had found stealth accelerations and didn't notice a difference in their movement.
I don't know what all has changed but in this current version ninjas cap their speed out in shoes "of pacing". Meaning that every class is as fast as a ninja once they get "of speed" shoes. The problem is this. Ninjas remain the ONLY class without any skills to close the gap, disable, or otherwise catch an opponent. With every wizard having status spells (White Wizards not included because fear is no longer an issue with movement), Masters having Kick, Grab, Armlock. Knights having Charge. There is a HUGE disadvantage for Ninjas. Basically anyone with half a brain either CAN'T die to a ninja (if the ninja is stronger), or can kill ANY ninja (if the ninja is weaker). I think the speed cap for a ninja should be raised so they can benefit from increased speed. Honestly, ninjas NEED to be faster than every class in ffo. Along with the need of pretty much every melee to carry multiple element armor to combat wizards (especially with the changes to magic resist and wizards needed very little elemental armor and thus having less weight on them) Ninjas are suffering hugely here. ^Proof. It would be nice to see Ninjas get buffed (after so much nerfing :x ), with that aside you would think that they would be faster than every other class when both classes are in speeds. _________________________________________ |

Would also like to say that ninjas attack is hella alot weaker than every other melee class i do less damage than a master/knight with a standard strung pincer, while mine is flawless.. _________________________________________ ![]() |

the thing about that though is that ninjas aren't supposed to be heavy damage dealers like knights and masters. I suppose it also depends on the choice of weapons. Anyways, personally I'd think that ninjas are meant to get more attacks in than deal heavy damage all at once _________________________________________ |

I haven't played ninja since disguises got nerfed (not counting the one this hosting), so I don't know about their damage these days. Tiny would be fair enough I guess, but I wanna keep this on topic. Their speed needs huge help. _________________________________________ Haze wrote:

I can't describe how much I love you for making this topic. There is absolutely no reason a Knight should be moving anywhere near as fast as a Ninja. And you're right, there are no ninja skills that close any sort of gap between them and a target. Knights have Charge. Masters have Kick, Grab, and Armlock. Wizards have statuses. Personally, I'd like to see Speed and Acceleration boots completely removed from the game. That might be help considerably. Or at least scale remove Accel, and scale down the effect of Haste and Speed. There really isn't a non-painful method of changing it I don't think :S

I just think in a game like FFO, super fast movement speed just gets in the way of balance. Especially when some people's icons are harder to click/see, it makes for a very irritating game experience. Increasing the max possible movement speed sounds like it will just be anti-fun all around.

You make a good point actually. Especially since there doesn't seem to be any regulation with small icons. I remember someone had like a fairy icon, that was like fairy sized. Was a ***** to click on.
Either way, increase top speed, lower overall speed around ninjas. Ninjas need to be faster than everyone, or the class just plain doesn't work. _________________________________________ Haze wrote:

1st Suggestion...
Ninja speed should cap with speeds: Masters speed should cap with accelerations: knights should almost be able to reach capped speed with accelerations: Wizzards may or may not be able to reach speed cap with accelerations: 2nd Suggestion... Ninjas reach an unobtainable speed to other classes with accelerations. While other classes cap there speed with accelerations. I believe that if anyone finds accelerations they should be able to benefit from it. _________________________________________ ![]() |

This isn't the first time ive seen something like this. Hell about a week ago me and Gale were comparing speed between my knight with speeds and his rw with acceleration and disencumber. no difference at all
There should be no reason why im able to keep up with ninjas and ruin their lives with charge among other things especially while im wearing a snail piece or two Ninjas could really use a speed buff _________________________________________ Corporate D.M

Well either way with the icon size something really does need to be done with the speed of the classes. Either suggestion i made would help....just something needs to be done. No gap closing ninja is sad right now.
