No I did read the whole thing. See, that's why you shouldn't assume anything.
Can you really blame me for it seeming like everything that gets added to Terulia comes from you or Garral idea-wise? _________________________________________ |

IDK. Maybe if you were more active in development you'd be more in the loop on things.
So yeah, I can blame you. My assumptions had ground to stand on. Yours are from standing back on the sidelines not knowing what you're talking about etc. If you have questions, ask. _________________________________________ "Take this shipment of supplies to Gillian, and try not to murder anyone's parents along the way, alright?"

ok lets look at the dev forum. last post in there aside from the latest topic in there was dated 8-22-09.
you cant expect us to go out of our way to figure out what you guys are doing. contrary to what you might believe, some of us do have lives. we have a development forum. use it. hell, even if you guys continue to have your little secret meetings away from the devs that don't ask if anything is going on constantly, you could at least post recaps for those of us that don't know about the meetings or can't attend. _________________________________________ |

These "secret meetings" you speak of are usually one on one instant messenger conversations. I don't remember the last time we've had a real meeting.
Furthermore, I DO expect you to go out of your way and ask questions to figure out what's going on. I'm doing school full time and working on development with whatever time I can muster and I'm certainly not going to go out of MY way to catch you up to date, especially when you do a minimal of work. The most active people in development seem to be the ones who know the most about what's going on. I don't think that's just a coincidence. On top of that, I work mainly on mapping. Anything I post about in dev is going to have to do with "mapping", for the most part. _________________________________________ "Take this shipment of supplies to Gillian, and try not to murder anyone's parents along the way, alright?"

You guys are jerks. You have no right to complain that Gaku doesn't listen to your suggestions.
Why don't you see this from his perspective? The perspective of a game designer. This is HIS game. It's HIS baby. You can suggest to him how to raise his baby, but he doesn't have to listen to anything you say. _________________________________________ |

If Terulia comes out entirely pvp based with a side option of monster grinding, I have to say I will probably be turned away. :( I don't like constant pvp, I like to have fun in huge parties with my friends grinding all day long. I can already guess what it would be like on Terulia. Me, the average player, doesnt spend too much time on to lvl and proff til im capped and I join a kingdom. Someone say like Nab, sees me walking by, he's from another kingdom and pk's the hell out of me, because he knows he can, cuz I am weak compared to his possessed like abilities when it comes to grinding days at a time.
Don't get me wrong, I like pvp (in the ffo sense) but if it leans more then whats in ffo, I know I'm not going to want to play. Sorry Dean and Garral, I know you have already stated that theres gonna be monster option and not so much of a power difference, but I'm not sure how thats possible. Seeing how youve stated that you will be gaining more from pvp'ing. I just see people like Nab going nuts on this new system... _________________________________________ |

Money. Is it really worth all this effort, time, and sacrifice of players to get rid of the Final Fantasy theme so meager amounts of money can be made? Wasn't Terulia supposed to happen years ago by now? How much money would realistically even be made? And isn't it sorta discourteous to throw away Final Fantasy after all it did to jump-start Final Fantasy Flashback and then Final Fantasy Online? In Gaku's defense about dropping the FF portion of the game, he actually asked the forum community for their opinions over a year ago, and (if I recall correctly) the response was generally positive. _________________________________________ |

If you don't want to take part in PvP, that's fine, but you may not be able to go anywhere you want at any time if you're near hostile territory. _________________________________________ ScouSin: Damn you Gaku! Gaku, does that mean once you're in a kingdom there will be safe places to train that you won't have to worry about enemy kingdom members at all, or what?

I think he means some areas will be more safe than others.
If you're in your kingdom's territory, opposing forces would be in more danger than you. You're likely to have fellow citizens nearby. If you're walking around in the back yard of your enemies, you're more likely to run into them than friends. _________________________________________ "Take this shipment of supplies to Gillian, and try not to murder anyone's parents along the way, alright?"

Will the dock guards for each kingdom's landmass attack players of enemy kingdoms? _________________________________________ Signatures are SO last decade.

You're trying to call me stupid and ignorant here? That's HI-larious. I'll bold it and reiterate again for you, since you obviously don't get it... I don't like you. I couldn't give a shit about if you're kidding or not if I tried because guess what? At the end of the day I still think you're pathetic as fuck and I just don't give a shit whether you're attempting to crack a joke or not. Why this guy gets away with shit is beyond me. Actually it's not but I won't even say the reason. _________________________________________ |

tl;dr
However I did notice that it said it may be hard for a newbie to jump into the pvp and be able to fend for himself. What if losing still got you experience at early levels, just not as much as winning? _________________________________________ |

tl;dr Well, as it is, that is how it's going to be. Since you don't lose EXP for dying in PvP anymore, and EXP gains for actions have a higher effect on proficiencies now, every battle you get into is a form of training. _________________________________________ |

I'm in love with the idea of most of your experience coming from actually using your skills.
I'd much rather have my profs go up by using certain skills/weapons than having to run to the prof clinic all the time. If Gaku reduces how much the experience used at a trainer goes towards your skills drastically enough that will: -Cut down on people training super fast via huge "FFO" training parties where you go out and bank as much experience as possible and run back and prof. -Prevent people from running out things to prof and give them something to do. That would most certainly keep the game fresh longer and cater to those who are worried about the game getting boring too quickly because they've capped out all their skills and such. _________________________________________ "Take this shipment of supplies to Gillian, and try not to murder anyone's parents along the way, alright?"

I agree that it's nice that skills will level mostly from using them. That way someone doesn't go from never having used a small dagger to using a gekiretsu ikazuchi.
