I don't think testing it is a problem for anyone, so that's fine. But, can't you see why it shouldn't be kept for the rest of this hosting? Giant's Helm is in too high demand and that's how it's always been since Giant's Helm began.
I wouldn't even be bothered if we tested it for a while, but not the rest of the hosting. I doubt it'll go far. Terulia won't even have this big of a probelm to have such a severe update. _________________________________________ |

It was just listed as one of the reasons that everyone goes to Giant's Helm because that's where parties gather. You don't seriously think that domains will ever adequately spread on their own when a domain is used as a hotspot for parties, do you? It may actually happen even worse in Terulia because of the distance between domains. Fact is, we don't know yet. We ain't psychic. _________________________________________ SMUG.MOMENTAI

Alright, we're talking about overcrowding domains, correct? Kay, so what about the 7000 plus NPC members of a domain? What difference does 100 PC members (That less than half of them are active) make that 7000 NPC members don't? If a domain can house so many NPCs, I don't see why it would have a problem housing offline players of a domain.
What I see here, is players with domains such as Irendi guardhouse and so forth looking for a way to get their empty domains filled with people. If people wanted to live in IGH they would. Being a leader of a domain is one thing, but being a respected leader is another. No one wants to move out of a safe, comfortable town to move to some Nazi's fort up in the snowy fields of death. I am chancellor of Shyron. Sure I would love people to come live up here with me and Vigo and have some awesome training parties, but I'm not going to force people to do so by claiming that domains with a lot of population are over powered. Shyron is usually filled with people, GsH is usually filled with people, any domain could be filled with people, it just takes a respected leader to bring these people to their domain. People who will enjoy living there, not feel forced to live there. Shyron is slowly getting new members, of course they end up leaving after a little while because Vigo is obsessed with WoW and is pretty inactive at the moment, and the fact that most of the training parties ARE in Vorg because SOME PEOPLE want to hostile off domains such as IGH when people want to train. In my honest opinion, domains are fine. The leaders however, are not. If you want your domain to be successful, show it to be of worth of people living there. And yes, I use Shyron a lot here as an example, because it's my domain. _________________________________________ |

What would make the most sense in Terulia is to bring back domain (now kingdom) bonuses. This would provide incentive to join the undermanned kingdom(s) since it would boost your stats. Otherwise, this proposed update wouldn't really fit into Terulia.
In FFO, this makes sense to a point. GsH and Tristram are the "starter" domains, from where people can branch out and move on to other domains. Perhaps it would be better to just set a hard cap of, say, 50 people per domain, and then scrap the productivity/morale/etc. modifications Marcus had in mind. I'm really indifferent about the idea. However, I don't think everyone should be crammed into one domain. _________________________________________ ScouSin: Damn you Gaku! Kay, so what about the 7000 plus NPC members of a domain? Those 7000 plus NPC members don't drag all kinds of crazy psycho-killer spawns into a Domain that guards and citizens have to fend off with their lives. If you haven't noticed, an NPC Citizen getting hit practically kills off like 20 NPC cits in the Domain Information. Guards get killed and disabled by enemies all the times - you'd think that this happening all the time like in GsH would make NPC Cits want to leave GsH, as compared to it almost never happening in Leamaia or Irendi Castle where it would be far more peaceful. _________________________________________ SMUG.MOMENTAI

What you arent considering are the Newbies, and people that lack the skill to exist in those other domains, they arent even willing to try knowing that they don't really have to since they could just consolidate all at one domain. People do tend to do whats easiest for them moreso compared to what their buddies want them to do if what their buddies want them to do is beyond their skill level, IE living in a harsh environment or a far away place.

I still think a cap is a better idea, That way its either argo, or spread out citizens. Penalizing domains for having to many citizens just sounds stupid.

Even if one is a lot more powerful, it just builds the interest to work on another. It could even provide enthusiasm to making the decision if you do or do not want to move to a domain that's not in a great spot. I agree with disregarding all other segments of the said update. _________________________________________ |

Not even 50 people even play at the moment, i say we lower that number to like 30, Most of GSH's population is Alts, maybe people would leave alts where they rightfully belong, in Argo or NB if that number wasent too lenient towards alts like that.

The spawns aren't super crazy impossible. (Except maybe Images, but then that's kind of like Doomvines in Vorgardia) Domains that have even worse enemies to deal with, such as Diadel with Desert or Irendi Castle with Highlands are mainly going to see an influx of people that can handle that sort of thing, not Level 5 BMs with Level 1 Dark and Saber. If someone can't handle a place, eventually they are going to take a step back and go somewhere they can handle. Just because people can leave Newbie Island at Level 5 with no proffing whatsoever does not mean they should. _________________________________________ SMUG.MOMENTAI

I can explain why no one wants to live in Tristram. Aside from the fact its never been very accessible before so players won't think of it and GsH is easier because more people are already there:
Its right between a really hard/annoying cave and a dock. GsH is on the corner of a huge, wide open training area that very few players can do if need be. It'd be like if you had to go through the top two floors of the Ruins to get to Sank. _________________________________________ Signatures are SO last decade.

Its not just the spawns around tristram, its alot of irendi mobs, Icicles might need halved profs like we did with the spell caster mobs. and the melee mobs might need to be toned down since they can knock off half of a weaker players health in a single hit compared to on vorg where that weaker players survival chance is way higher.
Maybe most of the problem here is just difficulty and adapting. _________________________________________ sub0flame (12:58:03 AM): do you love me gaku?

Are you suggesting making frost wolves and goblins weaker? Also, you can think of the first floor of the ice caves to be a test to the players who come through, possibly deciding if they're worthy enough or not. Icicles are strong, but they're only a floors worth. Make it through there then you can enjoy everything past that point, if you can't make it through, there's other places you can go until you can. _________________________________________ |
