Between 24/7 siege making it next to impossible to keep a domain while maintaining school or a job, so many old bugs that are almost completely public now, Irendi Guardhouse and Irendi Castle both being completely useless, and being able to have 54 tonics, reverting looks like it will suck.

There is always going to be bugs. this is about just reliving what FFO really was, not the "terulia testing" that it is now. Who cares about trc and WT. Now dragons will be back to where they used to be, EE's may even be in the game too. Where as you lose one area you gain.

Um, for people who have been playing for quite a while, one more wipe isn't nothing. It's not like this game takes you forever to level up, and experience is much faster with a much more enjoyable partying system. Perfect example of not having to spam skills to level up to unlock new skills and so on. Instead you can go out kill **** get epic loots and dump what exp you have into what skills you want.
the cons are not worth the pros here. it's not about the wipe it's about a thousand bugs coming back into existance. ait's about permas being extra easy to abuse. it's about wt going poof. it's about the lack of trc

TRC won't be effected and I never considered WT going poof. But we survived without it back then and I'm sure you all will learn to survive without it now. Or whatever Gaku might be thinking about suggested 'big problems' posted here, if he even is.

But like this thread states IT IS A VOTE not QQ ABOUT THE IDEA.

So vote A or B.

I vote B. Especially because of the reasons Gale mentioned. People are duping now. Rewind four years and we'll have alot of drama.

You can't relive it without time going back to 2008 as well. Sure you may be able to get some of the old players back but
1) Most of them won't be interested in playing it for as long as they did back then
2) FFO can't get new players without individual people asking their friends and such
3) The "secrets" that were not widely known (duping bugs) are known by more than half the playerbase now

You may feel the nostalgia for a few weeks, but it'll quickly turn into chaos that will make the game suck for everyone except 5 people until a huge list of things are fixed/change, which isn't part of option A.

Maybe you all should consider the real pro to this: If people stop asking for updates/suggestions for FFO and there is just one concrete FFO generation for our small player base to have, with the hopes of getting oldbies back, Terulia can get finished faster.

As I said though, in the end the only thing a lot of you people even care about is bugs. It had all those bugs back then and it was still fun. I mean don't get me wrong, I'd like to go a little bit further forward in a revert if we could, but if this is the option I get I'll gladly take 2008 over what it is now.

Getting oldbies back isn't worth everyone exploiting the game and total carnage. To be honest? I'd like the nostalgia. But I can see things going down the toilet real fast.

B.

Having a game that is infinitely more abusable (Aim, Guns, DUPING) is bad. It may be more 'accessible' to bringing back old people, but as stated before, the duping bug is well known now and suddenly everyone in a group would all have the same armor sets for their chars, demon-muskets, and enough gold to perfect everything twelve times over.

When everyone ends up the same in order to 'keep up with the joneses', it's going to be more stale than anything else.

Also, EEs aren't in the 2008 files to my knowledge. They were removed early on in 3.5 if I remember right.

Gaku:
Taking FFO down isn't going to make Terulia progress go any faster.

The current situation isn't taking FFO down, but the point is the same; it wouldn't really affect Terulia's rate of development.

On a side note, I suggest that a Terulia server be up 24/7 (like seriously all dey errday unlike the last one which kinda died off for no real reason) so that this "development" can happen better.

Making it so Gaku doesn't have to worry about updating FFO is helping him achieve the goal of focusing his limited free time that he's willing to spare on the development of Terulia.

Or he can implement exp into this system and then not update anymore

However, if it really comes down to these 2 choices

Ill go with A

I played back then to know EXACTLY how it would play out, so my opinion is fully relevant here, sorry.

Vigo was running around with a gun dealing 1200+ with Aim to knights wearing steel+ armor. Mages were pretty much instagibbed.

Now picture Vigo being invis'd. Suddenly you're killed with zero recourse whatsoever by one shot.

Being killed in one shot is only fun in an FPS, since it damn well means someone pulled off a headshot on you. When it is prime-skill-click-foe-instakill, it is not enjoyable other than for the killer, and will end up with enough *****ing to fill the forums, since this community has shown time and time again it's able to complain enough about how a 'dead' game needs updates that the 'never-updated-again' FFO gets updated.

What momo said.

Anyways! If vigo did miss though you could wreck his ****. And he's not even considering playing master if we go back to this file. Also, lol those aims made it possible to fight the all mighty mages people keep talking about.

Which goes back to the point of: everyone would have to deal with it because if a revert happens Gaku won't fix anything wrong with 08.
