No because then you have only the rich strong people in the "community" having perfect necklaces, while the new players can't seem to get them above Grand. Since we're apparently still trying to make FFO new player friendly, that isn't going to work out.

I guess, only if you decrease the effectiveness of necklaces, and I doubt people would like that much.

Why would they need to be decreased in effectiveness? They are basically needed in the game or else you have terrible stats.

Also, if they are NEEDED in game to have decent stats, then that's more reason for people to group together to find some. I would think that people who put effort in should be able to be equal if not gain the upper hand against the people who sit around/autofollow for experience.

You're thinking of FFO Players being fair. People kill other people for the good items all the time. How is that setting a good example to new players who come into the game?

Necklaces are super easy to engrave, and if people get killed hunting for necklaces, they should choose their friends more wisely. As for setting examples, that would be assuming all the new players are 10 year olds or are older people who think they'll be accepted by conforming or something.

Edit: Basically what the last part means is, if people are actually influenced by the behavior of others, its their own fault/they can learn to not do so.

discuss:

either:
- global level cap limit removed
- prof cap at 1.25*level + 8
- decreased exponential health/mana stat gains
or:
- level cap of 30
- prof cap of 55
monster drop values -20%
exp gains -33%
eq-based fizzling -50%
MW for thieves only
Dean's anti spam-killing measures
all damage values -25%
PVP damage -10% (-35% total)
armor block rates -20%
fire/ice spell damage -20%
lit spell damage -25%
tier 2 damage -20%
tier 3 damage -35%
Argo shop value +50%

Option 2, having no level cap never seems like a good idea.

Also can we remove Life yet?

So does anyone disagree with level cap 25-30, prof cap 40-45? I don't think anyone really disagreed with these when they were brought up by a few people, besides the people asking for no level cap.

I agree with the level cap being raised a bit but not the prof cap. I'd rather not see it go above 40. Keep in mind that since the experience gains are being reduced you're going to have to train more. If the prof cap is too high you'll have effectively reduced the damage on spells and so on since it's lower than the previous cap of 55. You'll have also reintroduced the larger gap in power between players and turned it back into a grind-fest.

Also worth noting is that a prof cap of 40 still allows you to wear the top tier armor set of every armor class except for heavy and one piece out of the black leather set.

I'm not sure how much if at all the point system is going to be reduced for shops, monster drops, perma-chests, garland, and special mobs but these higher tier items just don't play well with others.

So, remove top tier armor from each set (maybe besides mithril), and maybe SOME top tier weapons? (with the nerf to damage and PvP damage, removing weapons shouldn't be necessary)

If I can't wear one of the top tier armor then I'd rather that entire set be taken out.

Same with weapons yo.

I dunno, apparently everyone has been complaining about Adamant and Black Leather, but if those get taken out I'd say AW should too.

I vote Option 2: Seems like it would keep people from becoming Godlike without a LOT of effort and the magic needed a nerf,,, badly! and I like the PVP rules change.

Just shave the top two tiers off of every weapon class.

PS: Are you guys ready for the new game mode? I'm going to pk 25 newbies in 5 minutes and then play hide and go seek :]

Cool, we'll hunt you down for your 100% drop rate of epic Silas gear!

Also I think 2 tiers is a little bit much for the WEAPONS side. There's already a 35% total decrease in PvP damage, and the prof cap will hopefully be lower so that's even less damage...

Beef Up: 70% nerf or make it up defense instead.

Changing the nature of abilities is just going to cause massive problems in the future, its a bad idea. Also there's going to be a damage nerf so how about we see how that goes first? And if you think knights were OP last hosting because of beef up, they were nothing compared to wizard magic (depending on use of elemental gear).

The profs have never been the majority of the problem. Look at the stat and damage bonuses when you get to the top 2-3 tiers of weapons. You can reference it in your copy of FFO BASICALLY.

Explain, otherwise it's just another groundless statement.

This subject has been brought up numerous times before. Knights are supposed to a defensive class, not offensive. Beefup makes them more offensive than masters who are supposed to be the offensive melee class.

Making it into a defensive skill or reducing its efficacy would put knights into their proper place.
