Gaku I remember before we asked "Why don't we have towers" and you said something about an icon?

Just curious if there was anything we could do to get them back in. I'm mainly asking for help with mob control for domains.

There has to be a better solution to your mob problem than adding towers back into the game.

Domain warfare is bad enough for players as is with the army being completely offensive.

Actually, you already said this, BWs have the power to utterly crush domains, even with maxed out army and guards, so I don't see what would be so bad about adding towers back in, just so long as we weaken their attack power and slow their speed down a bit. How they were in 3.5- was just ridiculous.

Do you even remember when Kumog ran Irendi Castle? He had 20 towers and nothing could set foot in there fore more than five seconds.

They are useful, but in large amounts, are extremely overpowered.

Totally agree with Dean here. I thought we determined that allowing a few rangers or mages to be out even without the army activated would fix this problem.

Totally agree with Dean here. I thought we determined that allowing a few rangers or mages to be out even without the army activated would fix this problem.

No, it never got implemented, but I seem to recall that was the solution we discussed. All I'm saying is that that's probably a better approach then adding towers just because of mobs.

Actually, last I heard, Irendi Castle had to get wiped because the sheer content of it made the server crash upon startup.

Limiting it per domain doesn't seem that good an idea, but having rangers and mages out in place of guards seems a lot wiser.

Actually once it was under my control, the worst damage it ever took was two towers in the front destroyed by Zaltron spamming Fire 3 on them.

It remained fully built until the server went down.


Norkia had burned it to the ground during Zaltron/Lutalo's rule early on, took it over, then it was built up, and wiped when Norkia was banned from the hosting. Zaltron took it over again, Niv and co took it over from Zaltron without destroying the buildings, gave me control. Remained under my control for the rest of the hosting.

Yeah people used to try and map out the entire domain and think of ways to conquer it and I just told them "okay if you figure it out I'll help with that" and no one ever told me they figured it out before the server ended.

Love the new quote system.

Exo you might be able to do Gaku's idea. He wants a 25~ x 25~ rune or "insignia" that he is going to use to place markers for archers to stand at. Make it look really nice and archaic and visible on both walls. I'd finish what I started but I'm about to leave again. I'll finish mine up later tonight regardless, just lettin' you know.

Would I need to lay it over the existing walls or can I just have a transparent background and he can place them on there? And it needs to be 2x2 like all the other turfs, right?

But yeah do yours because I'm not sure if I'll be doing it.

If he can do it with non-dense objects you could use transparencies. If not, you'll probably have to take the existing texture and add the insignia to it. and save it as a new textures.
