Keeps people from fighting Dark Sage the cheap way. You can also still damage the mobs outside using tier 2 spells etc...

This can also be pretty helpful in other situations. Also makes the cube lawls.

Supported only if some monsters can do it while others can't. I don't wana see snakes opening the door in the water temple.

Humanoids should be able to open doors (mages,skeletons,ect..) but beasts and such should have to beat them down, they could "grow" back like trees after a while

Seems we have a consensus. Monsters with humanoid traits like arms (Marauders, mages, maybe gargoyles) can open doors, and monsters without arms or the IQ to open a door have to beat them down.

Although, this leaves the issue of multitile monsters. Ones like Mad Pony and Ogre don't have a means of attacking from a distance, and they cannot get through the doorway either. How can we remedy this?

The wall idea sounds potentially flawed. Monsters could break into areas which aren't supposed to be accessible to players.

Only certain walls could be destroyed, assigned specially in the map.

Useful for future areas with indoor doors that have 2x2s

Yeah, looks like all tiles to the north, south, east, and west of any given door will have to be breakable by monsters. With quest doors exempted for obvious reasons.

Idea for buildings: It climbs onto the roof and comes crashing through if multitile.

Give multi tiled mobs a larger melee attack range to fix this situation. I think a large creature should be able to reach 2 squares away from them.

2 tiles is still not long enough. I believe the knocking-down-walls thing would be far simpler. It also adds the chance of a monster suddenly tearing down a wall when you least expect it, resulting in the party getting split apart as they fight on onslaught of beasts.
