Colored names should be given to Gaku, the admins, forum moderators, and icon checkers to make it easier for someone to know who does what and they can get help with it. I know that there are other games on this forum and this suggestion may need to be tweaked a bit to include them but this forum is mainly occupied by the FFO community anyway... but there are still people I know going around looking for help when it shouldn't be that hard. Me being an icon checker, I can't always be on FFO TRC all the time and it would be easier if people would PM the icon to me so I can go over it and upload it accordingly. If colored names were given then people would be able to know at first glance if they could help them with it.

If colored names aren't possible then could it be possible for a subtitle to be added under a person's name? Or in the information box say what group they are in?(still applying mainly for head admin/admins/icon checkers and not just regular 'member' title status)

I agree. The second suggestion for member titles would be more helpful, though, since it would actually tell what that user is. It'd be nice if this was an option users could set up for their forums.

Hopefully both of these can be added to the forums when Gaku has the time.

Good point, I didn't think about that. After I saw this topic I asked an admin if he thought it was worth changing the Icon Checker and Admins member groups to that on Terulia Forum Services, but he didn't think it was necessary.

It's not a personal problem. I just believe that it would be better if there was a way to see at first glance that someone is in some position. It's a problem to other people because I have seen people on TRC saying "I need an icon checker but I don't know who is one" and "Who's a mod of that forum so I can report said person"


Now I'm not saying that the people on TRC are looking at the forum but it would at least make it easier.

Due to harrassment on TRC I have probably 10 accounts on there blocked. I don't always see if someone asks all the time, since I really am the only icon checker on frequently enough to see if someone needs an icon added in. The current guides... Gale and Relleth are never around anymore. Sasha and Hashmal have no idea what they're doing. So basically we're stuck with Shane and Dean having to be on nsay for reliable answers since you and David are both rarely around either. Even then, Shane and Dean can't be around all the time either.

Thanks for pointing out the obvious and making the post about who does what though.

Even though Shane and Dean are usually online most of the time nowadays they shouldn't have to have the burden of answering newbie questions all the time. That's why we have guides.

I don't mind having you as a guide seeing as how your online often enough and are knowledgeable of the game.

About MOTD. Yes I am the only one updating it "EVER".

I usually place crappy ones out there so if someone wanted to make a better one they can aka the other admins.

At times I do make useful ones, but I don't think im needed to make one new one each and every day by myself.

I've updated MOTD a few times. I post useful things like links to the Rules or tips for TRC use every now and then.

The passiveness aside, it would at least be a helpful to any wandering newbies that might look through the forums for someone they can contact about a game matter. Since the rules are located on this forum, and should probably remain hotlinked in the MotD at all times so any player, new or old, will have a relatively easy time accessing it, it would be helpful if at the very least on this subforum member titles were given regarding in-game positions.

Likewise, maybe an update could be done to TRC where certain positions will modify their posts on TRC when on that game to signify their position; i.e. when using TRC from FFO, any player that sees me post a message on any channel will see either a symbol or maybe even a modified name color that lets them know I am an admin, but when using say the standalone client or TRC from another game, I would appear as a normal user.
