Today, about an hour ago, I was confronted by a bunch of people and an icon checker telling me my icon was inappropriate.

Simple right?

Not when it's been put in by Deylin, not approved at all, and leaves ME needing to hear crap about how a couple frames of my icon arn't kosher. Seriously, About... 3-4 days after my icon is put in, a whole day spent working on it, only to need to change parts of it because Deylin was too incompetent to check it herself or talk to another icon checker?

Yeah, quite clearly someone needs the boot from icon duty, and it's sure as hell ain't Kikuri, who was the one who confronted me. Seriously, saw some MAJOR incompetence from Deylin just then when the situation was explained, everyone is calling her an idiot, and personally, I wanna throttle her for doing her job terribly and not getting this problem addressed to me ASAP so I could change it.

Please for the love of god give her the boot, people are TRYING to get her gone, but none of them really have any evidence of much. This is full proof of her poor job as Icon checker, or implementer... or whatever.

Believe me, I've held no grudge against the girl... until today. If you read this, YOU HAVE NO IDEA THE AMOUNT OF RAGE YOU MADE ME GO THROUGH BECAUSE OF YOU, DEY. In character, when I get strong enough to kill your ass.... you are SO KoS for me.

to be honest this has happened a few times. perhaps not this exact issue but issues but ive been hearing multiple icon complaints from deylins actions mostly about not logging icons correctly and uploading them when there not legal due to some bs reason.

i think you were a little harsh here my friend. yes she made a mistake but you didnt have to bite her head off for it. As for her being removed as a iconer only the other iconers can decide that not you.

In short sorry for the inconvenience and irritation but most likely what you want to happen wont.

Since alot of people are trying to get her gone, what would stop other icon checker to edit a mistake at it, put it back in and then you blame her?

I'm not accusing anyone, but it's something possible since a lot of people don't want her as an icon checker.

Also, Kefka should be like "hey, there's something wrong with my icon, can you fix it?" to Deylin, she wouldn't deny fixing it, i bet.

deylin messed up when approving and uploading his icon. This caused him lots of grief (people saying his icon was ****ed up and was gonna be removed after he already got it approved and put in, being given no notice that it was invalid when he originally submitted it because that what icon CHECKERS are for, and finally having to remake the icon and resend it to another checker). he then found out she has had iconning issues in the past. which made him even more confused and angered to the fact she was a icon checker.

Now he went about it in the wrong way but his frustration is understandable. and he does pose a good question "why is there a icon checker checking and admitting icons when they dont know what their doing" while crude and a little mean its a valid question.

We could always go with my age old suggestion of removing custom icons altogether and just allowing people to recolor the base icons, Terulia-style.

This would cut out all the regular complaining and whining and replace it with "bawww why can't we havs custhom icawns" whining (which is fine by me).

It'd also reduce the stupid resource downloading lag associated with rather large icon files.

If that is done would it allow multiple bases like in Terulia (hair, armor, skin) and when and how often can you change?

That's what I had in mind. You would be able to change your hair color, skin color, clothing, and accent color. This is how it's done in Terulia.

As to how often, I would think that once would be sufficient but as long as it's not ridiculously often I guess it would be okay to change once in a while.

Of course many people would disagree with this proposal and immense butthurt would ensue.

I think that idea would be cool but I feel like there'd have to be a balance in number of times you can change. Obviously a lot of changes is out of the question. Would it work like you start a basic icon and when you CC you get to pick all your colors or will you just get to pick all the colors from the get-go? Maybe have two times you get to pick. From the very start and after you CC...?

Since were on the subject, Dey did get on me last night about my icon ( she was probably inspired by this post to do some double checking. After talking with her in game she pointed out some things that needed correcting that I was totally unaware of being new and all, and she understood this is my first icon. What would really be of help is a sticky that FULLY explains what is needed for an icon to pass inspection. I dont mind making the changes, there were some other things I wanted to change about my icon any way. And really, I do appreciate constructive criticism. Its not easy to search every iconning post to figure out what is needed and what is obsolete (i did go to the old Consortium for some info) Lets face it, I am not the only new player, and I am certain there are others who are running into this same problem.

As others have already stated, the better solution to this problem is to have the other icon checkers work with her so she doesn't make more mistakes in the future. There aren't very many users left in the community who have the qualifications for icon checker, either. (that I know of)
