Message-resend spam

Lately when I've been timing out, I've noticed that TRC will resend all messages to me in case I missed any.

This is nice.

But it would be even nicer if it could flag messages so they aren't resent every single time when a time-out occurs. It gets very spammy.

There's an old version floating around that someone (I forget who) uploaded/copy/pasted.
It was fine initially, but an update a while back rendered it obsolete.
A number of people continued to use it with limited success.

Am using the updated version now, and the resend spam seems to have lowered some over time, which is good.

However apparently the time-out gagging does not function; people complained that my connection timing out so much had taken up their entire screen on TRC yesterday. I had asked one of them to post a log but it appears nobody was willing to do so.

Would it be possible to change time-outs so that instead of announcing every time someone times out, it does it once per half hour tops, or possibly gags it completely altogether and adds a symbol to them in /w?

I'd need to see a log to know what it's doing. If you're timing out, then it's dropping you from the user list, forcing you to log back in.
