not really sure why, but guard/army AI does not enter doors
people abuse this to kill inside argo and just sit inside the building for however long, while the guards do nothing it also does the same in domains, which works in the opposite way making running into a building to control the amount of army not reliable, albeit getting stuck in a building with full army/guards will probably screw you over not sure what causes this problem, but it is a problem and im sure its been brought up before but since people are abusing their buggy AI to kill newbies in towns where newbies think they can be safe, i see it as a problem, and i know from personal experience this works in terulia as well, making guards/army useless at stopping people from ganking in "protected" areas _________________________________________ Letha says: Mint is more of a man than me. |

reply to Rarity:
It's because of how FFO's pathfinding works + how buildings are mapped. The guards run into the wrong buildings and hump the walls. They don't leave the wrong buildings because they think they can run through the walls to reach the outlaws instead of going outside then back through the correct door. _________________________________________ |

It's probably due to a BYOND "fix". Previously, if a path was impossible, movement would halt, 0 was returned, etc. Now, it just gets as close as possible. The effect is that the mobs think they can walk through the walls when in fact they can't. "Fixing" this would be a huge pain in the ass.

Simple fix with hilarity: Make guards nondense when they're chasing after lawbreakers in non-player owned cities.
