After 2 days of training in a limited area...(aka: argo,vorg) it seems that monster drops are subpar at best now. Wondering what everyone else thinks about this. This is obviously opinion based but it would be nice to determine if the community at large would like to see monster drops returned back to their normal values....excluding dragons. We have no idea what those drops will look like yet.

It does seem a tad bit to low, seeing poor wooden tonfa for the 80th time and no half decent gear drop off of champs or mobs gets discouraging but meh

Drops are about half what they were in argo from last hosting. I would suggest not changing the normal monsters but only reduce the Higher level mobs

That update was stupid, 25% is waaaay too much for normal mobs, that means its not worth training anywhere but argo because nothing will even give enough gold to repair by the time wlc hits 20(gar items everyone wants to use)

Not ONLY that, but value of higher up items was increased, which now means even holding a power staff at lvl 55 will be really rough, this only benefits domain lords who will have that kind of cash to throw around engraving everything, while everyone else can't carry ****

What was fine was the monster drop values before. The problem, according to Shane's topic where having too many speeds and the like was silly, would have been the max value in shops. Those have been buffed at least three times in the last 3-4 hostings due to random people asking for it to make the game easier for themselves and them somehow actually being implemented.

The problem with monster drop values was the rewards of dragons and champ dragons versus the difficulty in defeating them. The solution should not have been to make their rewards less. Dragons needed to be harder to fight so that you can't just kill 5 Frost Dragons in a minute to get almost a certain chance of gold/item drops and so there isn't a 90% chance of winning against champion versions at level 55.

The changes to the drop values removes a lot of motivation for players to continue playing past the level cap. Unfortunately it can't just be left to PvP at that point because in most cases there is a lot of quitting when a single war is lost.

Aside from all that, since FFO isn't really going anywhere anymore, there wasn't a need to implement such a change that "balances" things in terms of what it was like in the old days. The high player activity before the pwipe proved that most of the way the game was worked out well. This is why I was against such major changes.

i got speeds in the first day, from argo, domain shops are better, so if i checked one, what would be there? sorcerer wayfarer?

My opinion is - Make domain shops same as argo shop value, and make argo shops value same as before, like ALMOST impossible to find a speeds.

Well really what I meant by that topic, the forever ago that I made it, were points overall. The shops were only part of the issue. Really, there are four drastically problematic parts in terms of points that are really, really misscaled in comparison with everything else.

1) Shops outside of Newbie Island.
2) The Garland questline.
3) Champion Shroomas
4) Dragons in general

A lot of this information didn't specifically become apparent to me until forever after I made the topic, and honestly since I forgot about it I stopped considering it as being a potential update.

The shops at their highest were capable of spawning like, Crimson Wayfarer pieces.

The Garland questline is capable of spawning, like, any combination of equipment, element, and suffix minus tier 7s and Giant's Blades and Titty War Hammers. This isn't as huge a problem since it's a bit limited, but Garland quest runs have always been an issue.

Champion Shroomas drop some of the most reliably good champ drops in the game. Champion Bulls and Champion Snowmen are capable of dropping better, but not reliably and those can be difficult to handle anyway. Shroomas are rather simple to deal with, especially with a Red Mage around.

Dragons were too easy to kill compared to the amazing drops they yielded.

The hotfix Gaku just put up seems to only leave Shroomas as a real problem.

I believe a single piece of Crimson Bracelet of the Wayfarer was found a few months ago.

Edit: And if I'm mistaken, which I suppose I could be, they still easily spawn Sorc of the Wayfarer, which is redonks.
