I'm rather aggravated by the poor sportsmanship of a few players this night. I was out killing some mobs trying to get some exp. This red ninja comes and steals my gold in the middle of this. This is all well and fine, that's what ninjas do.

Later, I try to kill him. This doesn't go over very well. A red mage continuously sleeps me. This allows the ninja to proceed and steal everything I have.

Or he would have if I hadn't been clever enough to kill myself.

And I suppose this is all well and good and expected of a game where pvp is not optional, but come now. This was uncalled for. I would've been left with nothing if I hadn't killed myself. It wouldn't be worth the effort to continue. I would've just quit.

That sir is what i call, people being faggots. Simply taking advantage of certain mechanics just to bully people.

Simple solution, Have a buddy party with you to prevent such situations from reoccuring. You have to always consider the fact that some people have capped out characters, meaning they do not need to train, also meaning that they have nothing better to do than make alts/get on alts, and either train them up, or troll the rest of the society with them.

Bringing mechanics into question in this situation is silly.

That's a solid technique for procuring gold and items.

Be happy this isn't 3.5 where people used armlock, berserk, and cure to PURPOSELY break your armor so it disintegrates.

If I recall right you can't steal/filch someone who isn't hostile to you, so you must have hostiled them at some point. Now you've learned your lesson, so don't hostile ninjas or people partied with them anymore.

I thought some ninja was complaining once that they couldn't filch/steal from non-hostile players in general, so I guess I just got it confused.

As I said, what they did is perfectly legitimate without the restrictions of the games intended programming. It was still in poor taste. It's fine though. I know that when you have online games, you get the losers who got picked on in school that only find a sense of power by picking on people in video games ;)
