I think the giant mountain in the middle of Sankora should be removed. It's already the smallest domain no need to make it even less fair by having that in the way.

Or five minutes drawing a map of the place and plotting the domain out instead of building haphazardly. Last time I was at Sankora, it was already shaped up.

Already tried this exact same suggestion...apparently it's too much work.

Aries, Cea spends like hours designing each town lol.
That's not the point. The town is so tiny, that it can pretty much only have the necessary buildings and basically nothing else. _________________________________________ Huckey168 (ffo): Your a idiot beyong all imagining. |

Exactly like Haze said. If you weren't such a FUCKING HUGE BAKA FFFFFFFFF
Bro I map them out SQUARE BY SQUARE using a spread sheet. I can tell you the EXACT amount of squares in every domain. Which is WHY I made this suggestion. Sankora is just DESTROYED in size by ANY other domain. Even IGH is better off! It's a simple fix. The mountain was in the area before the town was put in. The mountain never got removed. Everyone that has owned the domain has asked for it to be gone. I just figured I'd make a topic about it. TBH Aries if I kept track of how many times you made an ass of yourself I'd run out of room on my completely empty wall. _________________________________________ A good player knows how to play his class. I like how the mountain breaks up the domain and makes it more unique-looking, rather than just a large empty landmass you can build in. Its also pretty nice because then the layout of the roads and what not is more interesting. However, I agree that Sankora is way too small for it, especially considering no other domain has an obstacle such as this.
I'd say either remove it or do the same thing to the rest of the domains. We all know which is easier and thus more likely though. Its a good idea in concept, it just sucks because its in the smallest domain and nowhere else. _________________________________________ Signatures are SO last decade.

I dont see a problem with its size, or the mountain. When Remulous and I owned it we had a full army, all the essential buildings, a library a temple and pc houses. Also had plenty of npc houses to support the full army.
Its fine as is, perhaps you should build it differently. _________________________________________ |

Why does one domain have to be like the rest?

Wasn't an argument, it was a question. I know the domains are unique, and one of the things that makes Sankora unique is it's size and geographical features. Again I ask, why does one domain need to be like the rest?

Sankora would still be unique if it didn't have a pointless mountain in it. How would removing it make it less unique?

why bother removing it? It's not a problem, or a bug.

It makes the domain more of a pain in the ass to build than it really should be. It's already the 2nd easiest domain to take, no matter what way you build it, why does it have to keep the stupid little mountain in the middle that serves no purpose except to hinder domain lords?

I think it's good for some domains to have flaws.

The only flaw that any of the other domains, are lack of resources nearby. (and the idiotic back entrance into the guardhouse, which literally makes it impossible to defend.) And even that isn't that bad, it doesn't interfere with the actual structure of the town. So unless you put a giant lake in the middle of Irendi Castle, or invincible trees in Leamaia or some shit, things aren't very balanced.

Diadel has a narrow back entrance.

For some domains, the dangers are monsters.
Have you ever seen 1/3rd of a Full Leamaia army taken out by a 'ZKiller' Night time Forest Swarm? I have. Diadel is not immune to that either, though less susceptible. IC is miles away from a source of Wood, and the stone gathering can be very dangerous due to mobs. IGH has the sewers. Tristram is close to the docks, allowing more coordinated assaults to be planned against it. Plus it has the pub as a potential bottleneck point. (Usually made a moot point by putting a gate in front of it.) Shyron lacks any real weakness as far as innate domain flaw, good on ya. Can you find any domain that doesn't have a real problem, excluding Shyron? And yeah, IC's weakness can be overcome by transferring materials, but that still requires work to get around. You can get around the problem in Sankora too, it just requires more then clicking 'Trade'. _________________________________________ Great minds discuss ideas; Average minds discuss events; Small minds discuss people.

For some domains, the dangers are monsters. Leamaia - Easily avoided, no work around needed. Just don't have stupid people live there/allowed to go there, kill anyone that does such idiocy, no problem. Very large domain with no problem in the resource department, except stone which you can easily get by stepping outside town to the north. Diadel - Same as above, but not a big deal, the worst that happens is a few walls damaged or the Blacksmith destroyed. Not even remotely a problem with proper structure. The north entrance is sort of a bother, but it leads to easy wood so it's a decent trade-off. Big domain, with plenty of room to customize for domain warfare. Sankora - 3 entrances. Not a lot of room when fully built. In domain warfare, PC involvement just isn't an option if there's full army/guards. You have to realize if someone is attacking Sankora, people in the town that live there that either want to leave and/or fight back won't even be able to get outside. Very huge problem, and possibly makes it even easier to take than the guardhouse. It's like the smallest domain, even if the mountain wasn't even there. Giant's Helm - Basically perfect; not really any specific flaws, besides it being perfect for suicide bombing. Unavoidable. Resources are decent to get, and the monsters surrounding are very weak. Tristram - SUPER easy to defend, due to the small border to the outside. And it has a ridiculous amount of resources that are right there, making it the ideal wood-cutting domain for funneling resources to other domains. While it may be next to the docks, the gold to simply get to Irendi is a deterrent considering it's a decent amount of gold when you lose a large amount when you die in warfare. Medium sized. Shyron - It has a MOAT. Whether it helps or hurts, depends on different circumstances. The domain is fairly large, and is just a pretty sweet little setup 8). There's an okay amount of trees, and more than plenty stone places. Irendi Guardhouse - It has a back entrance via the sewers, making it an unavoidable takeover with a simple party of 5 or so. Really small, and whoever owns this domain will most likely own the castle. Resources are a pain here, due to only a small amount of "choppable" trees; maze trees don't count, so.. Irendi Castle - Massive domain, easy to build defensively but if not on attack all, it can easily be destroyed by a smart jackass luring swarms of monsters (see: Zen, etc) Resources are a problem, but when someone that has the guardhouse is done there they can send resources up there. Keep in mind, that the "resource hardship" is EASILY counterbalanced. There's domains that need wood more, domains that need stone more. Trading resources counterbalances that. Whether they're owned by seperate people, or by the same person, it's simply a non-issue. _________________________________________ Huckey168 (ffo): Your a idiot beyong all imagining. |
