Given that:
1) virtually everyone on this forum uses BYOND
2) the current remote login system is not well-received
3) BYOND will eventually add text-based client authentications

I will be replacing the current login/user system with one that relies on BYOND logins. This means that, when the time comes, user accounts here will have to be ported over to the new system. This also means that if you are a forum user, you will auto-connect upon joining a game that supports Terulia Forum connections.

In addition, after several hours of testing today, I finally figured out how to host subdomains on a Linux server. Thus the forum will be moving to a more sensible system using something like forums.terulia.com/your_domain_here
The existing forums should be relatively easy to port; it's the user accounts that will be a problem.

Finally, in preparations for a full BYOND roll-out, I will be adding an in-game text window for forum interactions. Probably the most important aspect of this will be an inter-game communication system. Simple commands like "tell [user] Hello world!" will be relayed by the server between players in different worlds. In addition, all forum messages will be received via this text window.
