Since scorpion tails were recently brought up in regards to needing to be adjusted due to being unbalanced, I'd like to bring up two-handed swords.
Dmg is ridiculous. Before everyone decided slinging around poisonous sausages was cool, everyone who wanted to dish out melee damage used two-handed swords. Some still do. I think a reduction in attack rating for two-handers is in order. _________________________________________ "Take this shipment of supplies to Gillian, and try not to murder anyone's parents along the way, alright?"

The fact that you can't use a shield happens to be more significant than you think.

I usually do more dual wielding Short Swords. The only reason I use 2 handers are for charge and Rapid Strike.
Not to mention 2H lower agility making a knight painfully easy to hit. (also hi huge delay) _________________________________________ A good player knows how to play his class. An elitist knows how to play everyone else's class.

Hit delay doesn't matter much with cheetah, even after cheetah was nerfed a bit.
Hence everyone using 2-handers with cheetah. Claymores used to be the fad til you couldn't get them in shops anymore. _________________________________________ "Take this shipment of supplies to Gillian, and try not to murder anyone's parents along the way, alright?"

Isn't the damage only significant because of strung pincers? I wouldn't even bother switching to my trust claymore without just my normal strung pincer on, which makes me able to melee desert monsters solo pretty easily when hiding along the mountain ridges for protection. Strung pincers just seem to boost their damage up to the "very good" point.
Compared to my spells the claymore's not worth it, I just use it if I wanna conserve and am not in a rush. I don't really see the need for them to be targeted for a nerf unless they're doing really high numbers somewhere. _________________________________________ |

None of us have even seen a cheetah two hander, I'm psure cheetah can't even SPAWN on two handers anymore. _________________________________________ Keepin on peepin!

Claymores don't do **** for damage without strung pincr/temper/saber. I don't even know anyone that uses them anymore besides Sinsie and Stat.
Everyone and their uncle use scorpion tails. It's fast, strong, and the poison ticks are ridiculous. And it's a New Banian monster weapon. _________________________________________ Huckey168 (ffo): Your a idiot beyong all imagining. |

Yep pretty sure they were removed earlier this version. If not none of us have seen one in months. Zen has like the only cheetah claymore I can think of.

zen has a cheetah claymore but he doesn't play anymore. last time i saw him he was hitting for 400s+ on normal hits in irendi but that was with temper/imbue/beefup.
i've seen seisul hit for 750+ crits on desert mobs with a locust claymore. again with temper/imbue/beefup/pincer _________________________________________ Flow is anthemic, dirty like it's plants in it

Claymores are not the only two handed swords. Cheetah does spawn on two-handed swords. Also, who the **** DOESN'T get a strung pincer? Oh right, no one. _________________________________________ "Take this shipment of supplies to Gillian, and try not to murder anyone's parents along the way, alright?"

Well then maybe strung pincers are the problem, not two handed swords.

Strung pincers are what make or ruin melee characters in the damage department. They kind of are the problem but not in the way you're thinking.

Like LP said, I think the problem present seems to be that the default damage is way too low, and strung pincers boost it by way too much.
Can we get some numbers up in this ***** and see what we can do about this? _________________________________________ |

First I have never come across ANY two hander cheetahs. Second its not like everyone is running around wiht them like scorp tails which means they arnt so OP'd that everyone wants one. The only ones it seems that are Op'd in two handers are knights. Remember though
Knights: 50 or higher blade Using a skill Higher tier sword Strung pincer beef up temper imbue Thats alot of **** that factors into damage. On average depending on where I am i hit in the high 200's with a flawless buster venom. But i have a strung pincer and my blade is above 50......No nerf needed EDIT* against myself wearing all heavy I do 120-170 _________________________________________ |

You're weak I guess.
I've seen knights in particular hit 400+ using two handed weapons. The factors and such don't really excuse the amount of damage dealt as we've seen in the past regarding other skills/weapons. Maybe everyone isn't running around with two handed swords now, but before the sausage fad, that's what they were using. _________________________________________ "Take this shipment of supplies to Gillian, and try not to murder anyone's parents along the way, alright?"

I know. I still played kinda, up until the other day.
I've seen WW do more dmg than that with two handers. _________________________________________ "Take this shipment of supplies to Gillian, and try not to murder anyone's parents along the way, alright?"

Even with a buster sword? That seems a little remarkable to me.

Sorry to say this but if 2h swords don't do massive damage they will never be used.
