If you can't fit something in, then prioritize and blow something up. Or better yet, take over a bigger one. That's like saying "Boo hoo I bought a dragon shield and engraved and perfected it, and I don't like it", you made a choice to live there and obviously it was a bad choice. _________________________________________ Censorshit is a bitch.

It's not really about that, it's that once you have the bare bones of the domain that every domain needs, you have room for barely anything more. And when and if you add more, there will literally be no room for you if the army activates. THAT'S the point that I'm trying to make. Please, lrn2ffo before you argue about something you know nothing about. _________________________________________ Huckey168 (ffo): Your a idiot beyong all imagining. |

Good point brah this is totally a good reason for Gaku not to take 3 seconds to remove it and bring it up to the level of the other domains. _________________________________________ A good player knows how to play his class. No..there aren't. All ya'll are saying is "it was good enough to just squeeze out a maxed army so there's no reason to make the domain COMFORTABLE to live in" (purposely ignoring the fact that every time happiness dropped units started to get fired which tells me there wasn't a whole lot of margin of error).
I lived in the domain with a maxed army, it really does need that huge space gobbling mountain removed. Deans whole "domains should be different" arguement is pretty pointless unless EVERY domain lord can somehow build the domains EXACTLY the same. Even so it'd be a moot point because all the domains have different locations and points of entry (see IGH vs Tristram). I mean c'mon guys do ya'll really believe that thing HAS to stay? .....really? _________________________________________ Haze wrote:

All domains aren't intended to be "full". Some were created specifically for use as trade centers and resource hubs. Sankora is one of these. As a mining town, the presence of a mountain in the middle makes perfect sense. It shouldn't be a "main" domain; it should instead be part of a hierarchy under some other domain (IGH or Diadel most likely). Not being able to fill it with every available improvement is thus a moot point.

I never spoke to Gaku about it.
I enjoyed hearing your Martin Luther King Jr. approach to domains though. _________________________________________ "Take this shipment of supplies to Gillian, and try not to murder anyone's parents along the way, alright?"

Sorry but even Gaku's reason doesn't make sense to me.
The (arguably) easiest domain to defend in the game, Tristram, is a goldmine for wood as we all know. It's also incredibly easy to get stone since the entire east wall is stone. Shyron, which is also a very well domain (very far from anyone and large size, easy to defend) is ENCASED in stone and has a healthy amount of trees near it. IGH is also surrounded by stone and has a generous amount of trees near it. Diadel again, is a domain that has a HUGE wall of stone right near it. And again, a good amount of trees near it. GsH has a lil less stone but still has PLENTY that is nearby. Not much wood at all, sadly. Leam has TONS of wood and easy to access stone though it's outside the domain. And then we have Sankora. As I have just detailed, a lot of other domains have equal or better access to stone. The only questionable ones are Leam or GsH. So Sankora has to suffer in size and general weird shape to be "an awesome mining colony"? I've seen the map before Sankora was added. All you did was remove the trees in the area and make it domain land. It wasn't a planned domain at all. Because if it was I'd imagine that middle mountain and the far south entrance being gone. _________________________________________ A good player knows how to play his class. If I may.
Gaku's remark on every town having a purpose struck a chord with me. If we divide domains into two categories, Main and Support, we might start seeing a trend among it. Main: Giant's Helm Leamaia (Arguable. While it is a solid domain, it's location makes me think otherwise.) Diadel Shyron Irendi Castle Support: Sankora Tristram Irendi Guard House For the most part, the support domains are not places fit for large numbers of people living. They are supposed to be trainning stops as it were. Shops, Clinics and Black Smiths to restock for trainning. Desert trainning, preparing to go through, or coming from the ice caves, doing a Low Lands or Highlands run and need to refresh? Even Leamaia is a recovery place for Earth Elemental cave and the ruins. While the 'main' domains are the real hubs of traffic. The places where everyone gathers to start adventuring. Parties for the desert very rarely 'start' from Sankora anymore. They might form up there, but the majority of people in it will be from Giant's Helm. As Gaku said, every domain was designed with a purpose. Sankora was not designed to be a fully functional town, it was designed to be a place to restock and recover. If I can say this as well, one of the problem with non military towns is the ease of capture. Perhaps if the treasury was made one way, so there was no benefit from taking a town with no PC houses, it might help the problem? _________________________________________ Great minds discuss ideas; Average minds discuss events; Small minds discuss people.

If I can say this as well, one of the problem with non military towns is the ease of capture. Perhaps if the treasury was made one way, so there was no benefit from taking a town with no PC houses, it might help the problem? Won't make a difference; players destroy domains more often out of anger or animosity toward the players owning the other domain than because they just want to loot it. Also I agree with your list, except, for a mining town, Tristram acts more like a fortress. If you think about it, aside from having to pass through the ice caves to get anywhere, the combination of stone, wood, and only one side to attack from makes it a really solid domain, if not the best. I think Gaku should just leave it as is because both sides have handled this topic in an extremely immature way. If one or two domains suck, its not going to matter. Its never been a huge issue in the past. They get taken more easily, but oh well, every domain can be taken. If we have to, just don't use those domains. If you want Gaku to change things, present your argument in a better way than this. The two page flame war just makes all of you look stupid. You'll live. _________________________________________ Signatures are SO last decade.

I guess I'll do it now that I'm here, though I thought an active person would've gotten to it first instead of complained about it. B) That's an immature way of handling what you consider an immature argument. Despite who the people are or how they say it, words should be judged on their logic and merit. If it deviates from that, well hey, just re-read part A) of my post again. _________________________________________ |

What does it matter? TERULIA What the fuck is your point? This is the FFO Consortium. Their is a seperate forum for Terulia-related discussions. The talk in this thread isn't necessarily a suggestion, just a beacon of hope to try and fix something that was never balanced in the first place. Just because the game will be obsolete when Terulia comes out (which who knows how fucking long THAT will be), doesn't mean that the game doesn't need to be fixed. Now, Gaku's post basically summed it up and nipped it in the bud that he isn't going to change it. That's his decision, and hence why no one posted afterward. Why do you always come into a thread when it's dying down, and make some small retarded post after everyone doesn't give a shit anymore? Jesus fuck Raidon. _________________________________________ Huckey168 (ffo): Your a idiot beyong all imagining. |

I guess I'll do it now that I'm here, though I thought an active person would've gotten to it first instead of complained about it. A) Not my forum and Cea hasn't outlined a specific rule list for it or anything, so how should I know? Read the ToS for Terulia. That's all I'm supposed to enforce. I'm not going to mess around with someone else's forum unless it gets to be against that. B) Sure I guess. _________________________________________ Signatures are SO last decade.
