A PM system would be very nice to have, although I don't know how much work it would be. If you implement it, please add something like giant text across the top of the screen (like where it says 'forum created' when you make a forum) on your forum home page that says 'You have new messages', or "You have x new messages'. A big problem with the old forums was that we never seemed to notice when we had new PMs unless we actively checked for them.

If not a PM system, a rudimentary profile system that displays at least email and possibly IMs would be great.
