Strung Pincers, Minor Suggestion

Increase Strung Pincer drop rate by 100%. Yes, 100%, melee classes rely heavily on these items to the point where they spend hours hunting for one, and almost everyone uses one. Rather than trying to balance it out so they're not so dependent on them, we can just ramp up the drop rate and it will be much easier for melee classes to compete without hunting for the right pincer for ages, and its also probably very easy to implement.

Thoughts?

IMO even just dropping it by 50% may not be a great solution. Since the people who spend hours grinding and have one (or a great one) still have a whatever amount of strength increase to someone that doesnt. So if your idea was to balance melees (casual and grinders) then just lowering the percentage would still give the advantage to grinders. If this wasnt the intention then disregaurd this post.

I'd personally rather them be removed completely from FFO. The problem is other equipment would need to be changed/removed as well.

In Terulia there is a new equipment system which is going to emphasize making every weapon/armor/accessory useful while doing away with putting necessity on accessory items.

None of the jewelry/accessories planned for Terulia will modify your attributes.

Anyway, back to the point. The new equipment system isn't in FFO and I dont' think it's going to be implemented into FFO.

People are constantly speaking for Gaku saying whether or not something is going to be changed or not in FFO. I don't know what he's going to do as far s FFO. In my opinion there's just too many problems in need of fixing in order to achieve a good balance where there is not going to be a constant need of see-saw treatment to everything in the game. What I mean by see-saw treatment is, as soon as you have Gaku change something, it throws something else out of whack.

You mean useful to a certain degree right? Starting gear is obviously as usefull as adam gear. Just in a diff point in the game. Do you mean your making it to where there isnt such a reliance on those types of pieces. Also if something like that is removed you are now making mages have the advantage so all stat changing things (muck skull, stone charms) would be gone?

How would that give mages the advantage? They're being removed and balanced by the rest of your gear.

Oh, I missed that. Just removing them, as Dean said, would cause other unbalances.

The reason my idea is to increase their drop rate is that they're already widely used. This would just reduce the time melee classes spend grinding for them in the desert when they could be doing other things.
