At the moment, I'm not sure how to judge some of the unique icons since I have two conflicting sources on it.

In the past, unique icons with flashing hurt states have been acceptable, but I have a few people disagreeing with me and I want Gaku to answer.

If they're not acceptable, then I have a suggestion.

Make all the default PC icons have actual animated hurt states, like make the outlines of the default PC icons white and all interior colors black, similar to how mob icons are when they attack.

Flashing hurt states are fine, especially with the new format.

I thought the invis/transparency-thing was the main problem. If it is then I'd say icons can't ever entirely disappear or be too hard to click at any point (or else we might get a very annoying ghost fad).

As has been explained, Icons have a transparent yet tangible aura now, starting from the middle of the icon and spreading out to cover almost the entire tile. This 'aura' is a transparency layer of 1 opacity, resulting in a film that cannot be detected, but can still be clicked.
