There are invisible npc's throughout the game. It seems to me that the ones who are invisible are the ones you have to talk to to start quests. In this picture there should be what looks like a monk, but as you can see (or not, haha) he is invisible. And when I do the text thing, all it shows is N's.

A lot of people know this already, but for now you can still talk to these NPCs by going into text icon mode (ALT + I + T), then clicking where the NPC should be.
Some of these invisible NPCs have a specific icon for themselves (such as Gael being represented by a G, or Avalyn by an A), but most others blend in with the background. Some useful tips to find specific NPCs: Argo Dock NPC - He's in the same place all the time, just stand directly below where he should be, that way you can find where to click easier. Mauler Quest NPC - If you're a White Mage or Red Mage, this is easy. Just cast heal on a player not in your party, a citizen, or a guard, then you'll see the invisible NPC being healed. You can then quickly switch to text icons and click that spot (might take a couple tries, but is easier with participating players). If you cannot use the spell heal, you get to do it the hard way (takes time depending on how full the room is, how many others help, etc). This method involves walking around the room using the arrow keys until you bump into a dense space. You then quickly switch to text icons and click that spot. Note: These methods work for the NPC in Aldeae to give the note to, or a Librarian in a domain. This is currently all the NPCs I can think of for now. I hope this helps... _________________________________________ |
