This isn't new to this hosting. The only reason I have yet to post this is because I am unable to reproduce the bug intentionally.
You will be able to control your movement via arrow keys or the numpad but your mouse clicks will generate no response. You are unable to click to move, click to attack, or click to prime any items/skills/spells. Marcus has experienced this as well. I'm not sure about everyone else. The best temporary fix we've been using is alt+tabbing out of ffo and reselecting the window which regains mouse control for the user. Sometimes it happens again though. _________________________________________ "Take this shipment of supplies to Gillian, and try not to murder anyone's parents along the way, alright?"

I'm not sure if I encountered the same thing, but one day I had an issue where after turf-casting a tier 2, my character would freeze and not allow me to do anything at all, while the world kept moving around me. I didn't try the numpad, so it might be the same thing.
However, for me, I did close the window and reopen, but it would just happen again. I don't think it was always when I turf-casted, but that liked to set it off. The way I finally fixed it was completely rebooting my PC, and I didn't encounter it after that. _________________________________________ Signatures are SO last decade.

I used to encounter the same problem with the same solution when playing Black Wizard and turf casting.
I also just checked right now. I was able to reproduce this by holding CTRL and ALT and clicking on a spot, even on my knight. I am pretty sure it has to do with the combination being pressed or a specific button for a certain period of time. I'd help test this more but I have to go to work now. Hope this helps. _________________________________________ |

There are actually two situations where interaction with the game becomes impossible. From what I've observed, one seems to be an issue with BYOND and another seems to be an issue with the game.
One situation is the above issue - the Dream Seeker becomes unresponsive to commands, though it is still running. The solution to this is right-clicking it on the task bar. This issue never appeared for me until the server pwipe. The other situation is far more disastrous in terms of the game in that the character is frozen until they die or log out. No commands will work for the character whatsoever in any condition - however, the character can still change different directions. This issue showed up last server for me, and it occurred only after I upgraded my BYOND to the version circa early November. I have only seen it occur twice, and it appears to be linked to doing a hostile action on a building or a player immediately after. Closing the Dream Seeker and re-opening it does not help. For clarity, in the second situation, the player can not attack, use potions, or move. However, if they click a door behind them, then the character sprite will change direction. _________________________________________ SMUG.MOMENTAI

its happened to me plenty.. when my net delay jumps, i hit alt,z as a macro, as im in battle, clicking away. then sometimes after that i cant click a damn thing but my numberpad works. shrinking my dream seeker window and reopening it fixes the problem. i think it has something to do with the alt button being pressed

If you're saying your delay macro is Alt Z, change it to something without an extra button, like a number not on the numpad.

Or maybe a non-number on the numpad, considering that the numbers on the numpad turn out to be every number in existence. I personally prefer using Del. _________________________________________ SMUG.MOMENTAI

Sorry, I meant use a number, but not one of the numpad buttons when numlock is off. I personally use the number 1 because I won't accidentally spam a macro when I forget to select/unselect the chat bar.

Gaku: nothing concrete = not reproducible, closed for now _________________________________________ SMUG.MOMENTAI
