As stated in an older report by Frank that was locked due to not being confirmed at the time:
still on 4x4 monsters. i clicked the left side of the monster and it wastes mana and a turn. i clicked the right side of the monster and SOMETIMES it rapid strikes and sometimes wastes mana and a turn. its definitely worse now than it was..

Gaku: nothing was changed, so it doesn't make sense for it to have gotten worse. see if you can get anyone else to confirm this.


I remember before that Rapid Strike would only work on multitiles if you targetted the brain tile (the southwest tile) of the mob. When it was like this, targetting a tile that was not the brain tile would cause you to attack once while taking your recoil damage and spending your mana, but stop and continue to the cooldown. This was complained about and apparently tried to be solved. Whatever happened, RS targetting is now definately worse because as stated by Frank, it is random in targetting. I myself was having problems with RS, then I remembered this and decided to check it out on a different multitile quickly. I found that clicking the mob costed mana, but did not attack at all, and gave me my cooldown. I tested this randomly on other parts of the mob to find that it sometimes went through with the attacks, and sometimes continued to not work. I tested this on each tile (I'm pretty sure) but as I am running out of time I cannot do more testing tonight.
If this information is not enough, I will try to be on tomorrow to test it more and give more detailed results. Thanks.

Ok so I tested it for real this time, and here's what I think.
Its actually not random, its any of the two tiles on the side of the mob that you can reach. I am not sure if this intentional, but it is really annoying :P
If that much IS intentional, there's another part to it.
(This part is theoretical because I can't control mobs to reproduce this at will): If you are RSing a tile on a multitile mob, and it moves so that that tile is out of your reach, you stop and begin cooldown. For example if you are RSing the southeast tile and you are one space east of it ("o" is the targetted tile, ☺ is me)

then the mob moves like so

you would stop attacking.
This is really annoying but again, I'm not sure if this was intended to happen (or if this is even true, but I know something causes me to stop mid RS while the target is still in range).
