I tried downloading the Mac stuff for byond, but it just brings up files. I don't know how to work a Mac(for it is my friends, who is letting me use it hahaha) and am wondering if anyone can help me or give me steps to download it correctly so I can play FFO again.

I remember I used to make games like that on my TI-83 in middle school.

I do kind of miss that stuff. It was rather fun.

By the way, to actually answer this loser's question, you can not run BYOND outside of Windows unless you emulate it through a virtual machine, Wine for Linux, or I suppose anything that emulates .exes for Mac.

BYOND relies on certain inherent Windows .dlls, and is so wrapped up in the Windows coding itself (which, in fact, is why BYOND happens to blow so much ass, too) that the only thing other OSes can do is host servers for BYOND, not actually execute the client program whatsoever.

you can however, actually run windows on a mac, though it requires the actual windows, and a program to run it with. I use virtual box, which can be found at http://www.virtualbox.org/ . For the most part, most need an intel mac to work. There's also bootcamp, which is official, and can be used to install windows as an actual os and not as a program in mac os.
