inherent armor abilities

Eons ago, an update was added that gave heavy armor a block chance, mage armor a chance to run while casting, stealth armor to shoot a bow or throw while running, and light armor to attack while running. All of these work except light armor. I've tested with every possible weapon combination you can think of over the past 9 months. Stealth might not allow you to run and throw at the same time. I haven't tested that.

I don't ever remember this being put in for FFO or Terulia.

Heavy armor has a block chance but as far as casting while moving or attacking while running I don't think that ever made it past being a suggestion. Use the search function in TFSM to check the updates.

They were added in at the same time as armor block chance. There weren't any suggestions. It was a dev team development back when garral was still p active.

To my knowledge, that was actually more of a thing based on strength rather than armor for all but the block chance, as well as a sort of thing with when or how you send movement commands. For example, I noticed that moving while using Chakra seems highly linked to the timing you move after clicking. I found similar results testing with a swiftness weapon.

Regarding the strength thing, I heard it from Marcus, so that could be all levels of wrong. Other than that, it seems likely to be a rumor based ultimately on people who have streamlined actions and moving to the point it gives the illusion of moving during an action but mechanically does not actually do so.

The heavy armor blocking and mage armor letting you cast while you move perks were added back when we still used the FFO Consortium. I can't remember what the other two armors did, IF they did anything, but I clearly remember the first two (and the heavy armor one is common knowledge anyways). There should be at least one topic discussing this subject on that forum.

No idea where though.

I just scoured all of Garral's posts in the old consortium and couldn't find it. It may have been an update at the beginning of this forum, but yeah, these abilities were all put on armor around the same time master lost run and attack (an update i can actually pull up if requested) AND, gaku has himself verified that the armors are supposed to have these bonuses as I randomly asked him on AIM one day about 5 months ago.
