What's up with all these horrendous topics?

I remember when this community was something nice. Something worthwhile.

What happened?

Why is there so much fuss over someone's icon? Why're people stealing other folks' icons? Has someone stolen MY icon?

Since when did the community devolve into this roiling cesspool of despicable acts of douchebaggery, and on a daily basis it seems?

At what point did we say, "Fuck all!" and start ramming cacti up each others' asses with a fervent joy befitting that of a mating wildebeest?

Regardless of our differences, people. We all share a common denominator; Our experience with this game. FFO. It has brought us together, torn us apart, and sewn us back together again.

Where are all the old faces?

Where are the good times? The bad? Our one-ness as a community?

My opinion?

The fact that FFO isn't on the hub anymore we have a very very small influx of actual new members. In the older days new players would come in and be taken under the wings of experienced players who liked them. Or some players would help out newer players being picked on. Along with the fact that ffo had a lot of players, and generally 20+ newbie on at a time, there were more guides and guides were screened rather than (what seems to me) any ol' random player that's on a lot being given guide.

The other problem is since we have the same players over and over, and a lot of them have left because they're sick of seeing the same faces do the same thing or they don't like the changes to ffo, people spend a lot of the time trying to screw each other over as early and often as possible.

This mentality leads to people devolving to pettier and pettier methods. So here we are, worse than a bunch of complaints about game mechanics after one side loses a pvp battle.

Imo, having played 2 hostings of 3.5 through most of the hosting after the community is much worse.

It ain't just like that on FFO, but also on other byond games as well... I played dragon Universe about a year ago and stopped because I was bored of it, soooo.. a year passes by I play it again and I noticed that the community there is 10X worse than usual I was like wtf!!?

I think byonders in general are going insane lil by lil as time progresses, give it a year or 2 till someone flips out and tries to actually murder someone over a byond game. LMAO!

3.5 was a lot nicer community in my opinion.

I have around 20 friends irl that i turned on to this game. most of them lost interest at around level 20 when other players started pk the shit out of them. Of all of them I think the only ones that stayed for any amount of time was Elok and Ace. Now Raven played this hosting getting to level 55 which I thought was quite impressive.

Now when my friends come on that played before they are weirded out by the new system which i guess for someone that played the the old system is kinda intimidating. To me its a lot easier to level but annoying when trying to get certain skills. but all in all a improvement in my opinion.

I turned on a few new ppl this hosting. One got very confused because of all the different ways to chat, and the first time he played someone was doing a raid and so he thought the monsters outside of nb were impossible and that the game was fucked up in some way..

the other could not figure out silas so i guess he shouldn't even be operating a computer lol..

1 said they dont have time irl to play this kinda game. but then went back to playing wow

I think we have all become assholes to those that dont play enough. bottom line if you get upset about getting pk'd your not gonna last long on this game.

being on the hub just made the assholes more diluted so it seemed like a much nicer community..

we should just change the icons and keep everything the same but i guess that is the idea for terulia but of course with any game it gets more and more complicated when you start coding it I have never finished any game that i would call complete and have started over 100 byond games so ...
