I've had a fighter named Mule since the beginning of the hosting. Today Cea decided I need a new name. I'd like to contest this as Mule is in fact a real name. I'd like my name back. I was renamed to Jonathon (which should be spelled Jonathan).

The rename was partially by your attitude. Newbies don't tell renamers "I'm not being renamed and I'm not picking a new name"

And newbies also don't pick the renaming rules or make renaming calls. Renamers do.

Honestly the best way to go about renaming is just to make the system very loose and only forbid names that can easily be seen as offensive, jumbled up nonsense (Zdjklasf), and names meant to start trouble. Let in all the short or random word names like Pebble, Tree, Toilet Paper even. Basically let the dumb names fly and only stop names that disrupt the game or in rare cases are just too stupid to let go (I'd say let "jumbled names" go up to like five letters but beyond that it's just too annoying).

If you keep it too strict you have people too dumb to comprehend the name rules that keep butting heads with the people in-charge. It's probably not worth the trouble anymore; names like Lord Phoenix, DragonKing, and Ihatemyself didn't cause mass-panic and hysteria in FFO before.

Locke has a last name, I don't use Haze in-game anymore, Shoe doesn't play, Hood doesn't play.
